Remnant 2 is the sequel to the popular action third-person shooter Remnant. The sequel to the first game is set to launch soon on multiple platforms. The core Remnant experience was something that a lot of players from the previous game loved, and they are hoping to get a similar experience in the upcoming title. Remnant is a challenging game that forces you to make conscious decisions and efforts to stay alive and beat it.
As of right now, the developers are promising a similar, if not the same, difficulty curve in the upcoming title. It is quite obvious that the difficulty settings in the game are not to be taken as a joke. The developers have put in hours of effort and have developed the game in such a way that the difficulty makes a meaningful difference. It does not simply make the enemies harder or you weaker, but tweaks the gameplay mechanics to reflect the change. In this article, we are going to take a look at the difficulty levels in Remnant 2 and how to change them to your liking.
Remnant 2 All Difficulty Levels Explained & How to Change Them?
The game will launch with four difficulty levels, with each increasing the maximum health and damage of the bosses and mobs while also increasing the Experience you gain in the game. These difficulty levels are:
- Survivor: A good starting point for players who enjoy a challenge but do not want it to be brutal. Designed for newcomers and older fans alike.
- Veteran: A much more challenging mode than the Survivor difficulty. It is recommended for long-time players of the franchise and will be a harder grind than Survivor.
- Nightmare: This difficulty level is a brutal challenge. Not a recommended starting point for players that don’t have the strongest builds or the time and patience to deal with mobs that are as tough as bosses.
- Apocalypse: Apocalypse is not for the weak-hearted. This difficulty mode will test your skills to extreme levels, and it is important to note that this difficulty needs to be unlocked. That means you will have to finish the entire campaign once to unlock this mode.
Additionally, there will be a Hardcore mode for players. This can be started as soon as you boot up the game. This mode will also have the same difficulty options as the classic campaign mode, but with a permadeath curse attached to it. If you die once, you die forever in Hardcore mode. You will have to restart the game from the beginning if you die in this mode.
Changing Difficulty:
You can change the in-game difficulty at any time. Keep in mind, however, that, like in the original game, doing so will erase all in-game progress. This means only your character and the items you have collected with you will remain. However, you will have to restart the game from scratch. Anyway, to change the difficulty in Remnant 2, you need to interact with the World Stone on the map.
