The survival/city-building game that has been in early access for over a year has finally received its v1.0 release. Titled Sengoku Dynasty, it is set in feudal Japan, where you, as a player, are required to grow your community and build a dynasty. The overall setting is very good, and given its popularity during its early access release, it is only fair to assume that many players would want to try it on their Steam Deck, Asus Rog Ally, and Lenovo Legion Go. So, if you are looking for details regarding the same, consider reading until the end for all the information you need.
Handhelds in 2024 are known to run almost every AAA title, albeit at slightly lower settings. When it comes to the most popular handheld, the Steam Deck, there’s a slight caveat to playing PC games on it. Unlike the Rog Ally and Legion Go, the Steam Deck comes with a Linux-based Steam OS. Although most games are playable on it via Proton, there are some that just outright fail to launch, mainly due to the anticheat engine they use. So, single-player games are free from anticheat, which makes them a very solid choice for handheld gaming. That being said, Sengoku Dynasty is both single-player and multiplayer with co-op elements, which might make players wonder whether the game supports the Deck, along with the Rog Ally and Legion Go. So, we are here to share everything we have come to know so far.

Steam Deck
Well, if you visit the game’s Steam Store page, you’ll find that currently it is neither listed as Playable or Verified. With the Unsupported tag, the game’s potential Steam Deck player base is at risk. However, there is light at the end of the tunnel. This is because, despite the game being listed as Unsupported, it still runs pretty well on the Steam Deck. Even during the game’s early access release, many tried running it on their Deck and were successful. The in-game FPS would be somewhere in the ballpark of 40-50 with the right settings. Similarly, with the game’s v1.0 release, expect similar performance, if not better. In addition to this, the developers have mentioned that supporting Steam Deck is still part of their plan and it will be included in the upcoming updates. So, expect official Steam Deck compatibility for Sengoku Dynasty to be made available soon. Anyway, here’s a gameplay video of the game’s early access version running on the Deck:

If you own a Legion Go or Rog Ally, don’t think twice before trying out Sengoku Dynasty, as the game is completely playable on these handhelds. Even one of the developers has mentioned that they play the game on their Rog Ally. You should be getting 45-55 FPS while playing the game on these handhelds, as they pack better hardware as compared to the Deck, but if you want the smoothness of 60 FPS gameplay, consider lowering some in-game settings. Anyway, here’s a gameplay video that showcases the game’s early access version running on the Rog Ally:
You will be getting a similar experience on the Legion Go, as both these handhelds are similar in terms of hardware specifications. With that said, we hope that you find this article informative. If you did, consider visiting Android Gram daily for more such interesting content on all things gaming.
