From customizing your Sims to creating a whole new world filled with possibilities, the choices lie in your hands. Well, although the base game is free, Sims 4’s highlighting feature is its DLCs, which offer you a wide range of activities to choose from. You can take a step towards advancing your career with the Get to Work DLC or take control of a ranch with the Horse Ranch DLC. The possibilities are endless. Anyway, recently, a new DLC has been released in the game; the LoveStruck Expansion Pack. This DLC offers a brand-new dating environment where your sims can find their appropriate matches. With the DLC’s release, many players have been trying it out, but the experience hasn’t been very seamless for some. As per recent reports, the infamous Sims 4 Save Error Code has returned. If you too have encountered the same while playing Sims 4 on your PC, consider reading this guide for workarounds to fix the issue for good.
Well, if you didn’t already know, this issue has been plaguing Sims 4 players ever since the game was released. Due to this save error, you won’t be able to save your in-game progress. Some players also encounter this error when loading a save. So, how to fix this issue?

Sims 4 Save Error Code 0 on PC: Is there any fix yet
Although the Save Error Code 0 has been officially acknowledged and fixed by the team, it still persists in-game. But the good thing is that it can be fixed. Here are a bunch of effective workarounds worth trying:
Delete Cache
For the first workaround, start by deleting the game’s cache folder. Where is it located? Well, to access it, head over to C/Users/{your username folder}/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Cache. Delete the Cache folder and then launch the game.
Remove and add Save Files
If the issue persists even after deleting the cache, go to the game’s save file location, and cut-paste the whole save folder. Now, paste it into a different directory. Once done, launch Sims 4 and start a new game. This will automatically create a new save folder with a new save file. Once created, close the game, and then copy-paste the saved files one by one that you moved to a different directory to the newly created save folder by the game. Make sure to not copy-paste all of them at once. After every save file you paste, launch the game to check if the save works. You will most likely find an autosave with the file name “slot_00000001.save”. For the majority of the time, it is the cause of the save error code 0 in the game. So, don’t place it in the save file directory. In addition to this, you can also rename the .ver files to .save files and then check if the game loads the save.
Save As Workaround
If you are unable to save your in-game progress due to the save error code 0 in The Sims 4, then consider selecting the Save As option and making a new save file. Doing so has fixed the issue for some players, so it might do the trick for you too.
Repair Game
Corrupted Game Files can also lead to this issue. So, what you can do is go to Steam, select Library, right-click on The Sims 4, and select Properties. Here, in the Installed Files tab, select the Verify Integrity of Game Files option. After the scan is completed, launch the game to check if the issue persists. On the EA Desktop application, you can do so by heading over to the games library and clicking on the settings icon in the The Sims 4 tile. After this, select Repair.
How to avoid this error code?
Disable Neighborhood Stories (Join A Career) and Don’t Set Cake for Wedding Event
Twitter user SimGuruNick shared that disabling Join A Career from your Neighborhood Stories and making sure that you don’t set cake for a wedding event will ensure that the error code doesn’t occur again. So, we suggest you give this workaround a try too.
Regularly create save file backups
Now, there is no guarantee that this problem won’t occur again once you fix it. So, to stay one step ahead, we recommend that you regularly create backups of your saved files. Doing so will help you get access to your non-corrupted save once the original save gets corrupted.
With that said, we hope that you were able to fix the issue in The Sims 4 with the help of the workarounds shared in this guide. If you find this guide informative, consider visiting Android Gram for more such interesting content on all things gaming.
