The Riftbreaker Rift Station not working properly issue
I figured I’d build the rift station and give it all the required goodies. The thing did the power up timer (no spawn waves occurred) and when it was done nothing happened. Now it just has a perpetual storm around. I can’t sell or or interact with it in any way besides bringing up it’s menu. I tried selling the stabilizers and rebuilding them but nothing happened. According to the above bug report by a Steam user, the rift station in The Riftbreaker is freezing – the player is unable to interact with it after building it. Several reports regarding the started pouring in suddenly a few weeks ago. Although the developers have promised to bring in an official fix, it hasn’t been deployed yet. We do have an official workaround which is a bit complicated but works for players on PC. Keep reading to know.
Workaround to fix the issue with building the Rift Station
The developers of The Riftbreaker have posted a workaround until they find an official fix. But, the workaround is highly experimental and if you are not careful, performing it might cause The Riftbreaker to malfunction. According to the developers, if you have saved a point, you will still be able to reload it and return to a normal state. But, they aren’t too sure about the outcome. Here’s how the process should be performed –
1) Firstly, load a save file before activating the rift station. This will help restore your game if something goes wrong.
2) Next, hit “~” on your keyboard to open the in-game console and type the following: show_flow_graph_screen. Now, hit enter.
3) Click MissionSystem.
4) Next, click logic/missions/campaigns/story/headquarters.logic##somenumbers
5) Finally, click ‘FINISH’ on [GraphNode] event_graph_18
Then follow the objectives. If you performed the above correctly and the root cause of your issue was the same, you will now be able to advance in The Riftbreaker and interact with the rift station you built. The process is complicated but for now, this is the only available workaround that can fix the issue before the developers come up with an official fix.
Workaround for console players
However, the above only works on PC. What about console players? Don’t worry. We have a fix for our console friends too! The trick is to rebuild the rift station. But for that, you will need to deconstruct it. Since the rift station is freezing or not working at all, players are unable to deconstruct and hence, destroy it. So, what can be done instead? According to a few reports, you will have to lead your enemies into destroying your rift station in The Riftbreaker.
Just clear the path of all buildings and turrets then use your suit to agro them into the station.
Once destroyed, you can rebuild your rift station. Many tried this on PC and it worked for them too.
