Trouble with your new Cottage Living Expansion Pack on The Sims 4? Didn’t receive the bonus content promised with Cottage Living? You are not the only one. The EA Answers HQ was flooded with complaints about the unavailable bonus content. EA had mentioned that all players who buy the Cottage Living Expansion Pack of The Sims 4 before September 2 would access the exciting bonus items. The game is facing many throttles since the expansion pack, and its support patch were made available. If you aren’t getting the bonus content, read this article to know more.
The Sims 4 Cottage Living bonus content not available
According to several users, the bonus content is unavailable even after purchasing the expansion pack before the September 2 deadline. EA’s conditions clearly mentioned that users have to abide by the deadline to get the bonus content. So, it won’t matter if you buy the expansion pack from your console’s store or some other retailer. You should still get the bonus. But when users complained about the error, EA’s support seemed pretty unaware of the conditions. The support gave reasons like the retailer might not be genuine, and the pack should have been bought from the Origin app. But this was not what was mentioned in the condition. The bonus content includes a Scenic Commuting Bicycle, Onward The Adventurous Gnome statue, and Bramblewood’s DeLIGHTful tree.
Most users have bought the code for Cottage Living from a retailer shop or other online stores. Now, they aren’t able to access the bonus content on the Sims 4. There was also some confusion initially about buying the pack as a preorder or after-release edition. But it appears that both preorders and after-release editions are facing the same issue. The issue is affecting not only PC users but console users too. The support also mentioned two editions: a regular edition and a special edition (which included the bonus content). There’s also no mention of regular and special editions on console stores or at any retailers.
Is there any fix to this issue?
Well, yes. There is a fix. Many users have contacted EA Support with Live Chat and managed to get the bonus content for themselves. The support asked for a receipt of the purchase from the store. They processed it within a few hours and users got the bonus content. However, some users who contacted EA Support received no help from them at all.
Right now, the developers and EA is investigating the issue with the bonus content. They may be working on an official fix. We request users to wait for the official fix as this is mostly an internal issue, and we, as users, cannot do anything about it.
