We still remember those days when games featuring everyday life boomed like crazy. Yes, we are talking about Zoo Tycoon and none other than The Sims. The Sims series features various elements, like building your character not just in the first boot but throughout the game. Building a house for them, managing their social life, or making sure they’re doing well at work. The Sims games showed us how fun daily activities can be. Nonetheless, in 2014, The Sims 4 landed on game stores, continuing the legacy for yet another decade. That said, in this guide, we will have a look at a specific element called Nectar and how to age it in the game.
Sims refers to all the playable characters in the game. As a Sim, you can do virtually anything that the game has a mechanism for, and one of those is aging Nectar. Let’s see what this mysterious element is and why you should age it. Recently, on July 14, a new expansion was added to the realm of The Sims 4. The name of this expansion is Horse Ranch Expansion, and as the name suggests, it added new content regarding horse ranches. With this expansion pack downloaded, you can manage a horse, build and manage your horse farm, and last but not least, age nectar in the game. But what is it? Well, it’s a type of wine. So why should you age it in the first place? Let’s find out.
The Sims 4: How to Age Nectar
Juicy Wine
Nectar is basically like a fine wine. Also, you may’ve heard that the more you age wine, the more fragrant and tasty it becomes. Fortunately, The Sims 4 also has the same mechanism where you can age nectar for a more expensive or better outcome. Just like in real life, consuming wine in this game has its benefits. Yes, Nectar can be aged more for way better buffs. Also, you can sell nectar for a good profit, and as you can pretty much guess by now, fine-aged nectar will always sell for more. Now let’s see how you can age it properly.
Stackable Shelf Rack
Before storing anything, you will need to prepare a storage place. A normal stackable shelf rack holds around 10 bottles, and it will cost around 300 Simoleans. Prices may vary in the future, but for now, it is what it is. Just get the normal one for now because you will be aging them, so adding more won’t matter if you can’t wait patiently. Also, depending on the time left, nectar bottles will have different names, like these:
- Lightly Aged: 2 in-game days
- Moderately Aged: 5 In-game days
- Finely Aged: 8 In-game days
Note: For starters, try fine-aging 10 at once. 8 in-game days ain’t long, so it should be done before you know it.
The Nectar Maker
Now simply buy the nectar maker, which will cost 350 Simoleans. After buying it, just place it anywhere on the ranch and interact with it. At level 1, you can make a limited number of recipes with either Apples or Grapes. Now it’s up to you whether you want to grow them yourself or buy them from the nectar-making machine. Once you have the required ingredients, just tap on the recipe, and your Sim will start making nectar. Once finished, they will automatically be filled into bottles. Make 10 of these and put them on the rack that you bought a while ago. Now the nectar should start aging on its own.
Keep in mind that some recipes are level-locked. So to unlock more levels, just keep making more nectar. The maximum level the machine can get is 5, and the best recipes are only available on higher levels. Make the best ones and fine-age them. Selling the best wine will always grant you the best money.
