force game mode

Server operators can force a game mode on the players that join. This is important to make players follow the rules of the server and prevent hacking. The operator of a server usually has access to all the cheat codes and game modes in Minecraft. They are free to use it as they wish. Force game mode can also be considered as the default game mode that every player has to commit to, to join a server. Some servers might allow a nontraditional game mode to achieve the decided goals. Keep reading to know more about the different game modes in Minecraft.

Game modes in Minecraft:
force game mode

There are five game modes in Minecraft – Survival, Creative, Spectator, Adventure and Hardcore. Players can force any of these game modes on the Minecraft server they own. On most servers, Survival mode is the most basic game mode used. However, some might allow creative mode if the server is focused more on building giant builds. You can sometimes come across hardcore mode servers, where players cannot rejoin after they die in the game. All these settings and modes can be tweaked when setting up the server. Most of the public servers switch the forced game mode according to the lobby. If players are in the main lobby, the game mode will most probably be set to adventure. This prevents the players from breaking any blocks and players are allowed to interact with only a limited entities and blocks.

There is nothing players can do in spectator mode apart from phasing through blocks. Since there is no practical use to this game mode, it is rarely used or forced on a Minecraft server. The main use of the default game mode on Minecraft is to prevent players from using a hacked client or using cheat codes. Minecraft itself has many cheat codes that bend the game according to the player. If you don’t know these cheat codes, have a look at the list below. All the cheat codes that become unavailable when you force a game mode are mentioned.

Cheat codes prevented with Force game mode:

1) /give – Can give a player any desired item in the game in any quantity they need.
2) /kill – Instantly kills the target player no matter what armor they are wearing.
3) /tp – Can be used to teleport yourself or another player at the desired coordinates.
4) /weather – Is used to change the weather to anything the player wants.
You can see by the description of every cheat code, why it is important to stop players from using them. More than one player having this access on a server cannot end well. Implementing the force game mode will let everyone enjoy the game in peace and harmony.
