Minecraft on Windows 11

Is the Outdated client notification stopping you from playing on a server? Find out what the message means and the potential ways to get rid of it in this article!

Every Minecraft player at some point gets bored of the regular survival gameplay. The need for a lot more challenging gameplay takes players to the list of servers available in Minecraft. Every public server is unique in its own way with a different set of rules and requirements. Mini-games like Skywars, Bedwars, Build battle, and other party games are available on these servers. Well-known servers like Cubecraft, Hypixel, and Hive can be played even on older versions of Minecraft. But that is not the case for all the servers. That is the reason players often receive the Outdated Client message in Minecraft.

What does Outdated Client mean in Minecraft:
outdated client Minecraft

Whenever a player tries to access a server or a realm that is running on a more recent version of Minecraft, they get the outdated client notification on their screen. Realms always run on the most recent Minecraft version. But public servers can decide otherwise. Many of the famous servers support Minecraft version 1.8 because its PVP style is the most suitable for competitive gaming. Being warned for using an outdated client is not a big deal and happens to almost every Minecraft player at least once. If you want to continue playing on the servers or realms that are now inaccessible because of this, just update your game.

You heard it right! You only need to update your game to the latest version to continue playing on these servers. It is definitely annoying to login into Minecraft with hopes of playing some mini-games but be greeted with this message instead. This problem is prominent for Pocket edition and Windows 10 edition players more than any other Minecraft versions.

The public servers for these versions coincide as one, under the Minecraft Bedrock umbrella. This gives rise to cross-platform gameplay on a large scale. This may be the reason for some servers to constantly keep updating themselves. Because it brings a sense of uniformity to the gameplay and forces everyone to adapt to the new gameplay changes. A reset in the normal gameplay means that new players will have a fighting chance against the players who are already well adapted to the previous version.

Conclusion:

Realms will always keep updating with every Minecraft update no matter what. However, public servers can choose to stick with a particular version. You can know the version of Minecraft a server is running on by refreshing the list of available servers. Update your Minecraft to continue playing on any server without the fear of being called out for having an outdated client.
