Zelda Tears of the Kingdom (ToTK) Lightscale Trident: How to get and find
Prerequisites
You cannot obtain the Lightscale Trident by exploring the various regions of Hyrule. Instead, it needs to be forged by a specific NPC in Zora’s Domain. Additionally, if you haven’t cleared the Regional Phenomena task for Zora’s Domain, you need to do so first. This means that first, you have to finish the “Sidon of the Zora” main story quest. To progress through this quest, you need the Zora armor to swim up waterfalls. You also need to clear the Water temple.
How to get to Zora’s Domain
Starting from Lookout Landing, Central Hyrule (-0254, 0102, 0018) heads in the east direction towards the Lanayru region. Feel free to grab the Upland Zorana Skyview Tower (2866, 0581, 0373) to get fast travel and unlock the map for the Lanayru region. Zora’s Domain is located right beside the East Reservoir Lake. Here are the coordinates: (3331, 0545, 0138).
Requirements to Get the Lightscale Trident
In Zora’s Domain, head over to the General Store and look for Dento, the blacksmith who crafts the Lightscale Trident in Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Here are the coordinates to the General Store (3335, 0490, 0140). If you talk to Dento, you will find out that he needs 1 Zora Spear, 5 Flints, and 3 Diamonds to craft you the Lightscale Trident. Once you are done interacting with him, the “Glory of the Zora” side quest will begin.
How to Get the Zora Spear
The first item in the shopping catalog is the Zora Spear since obtaining Flint and Diamonds is relatively easy. Zora Spears can be randomly found in chests in the Lanayru region. The easiest way to get the Zora Spear is to head over to the coordinates (2840, 0193, 0170) and open the treasure chest containing the Zora Spear. Don’t worry; there are no enemies guarding the chest.
Additionally, if you’ve already used the Zora Spear that you got from the above treasure chest, we have another alternative. Zora Spears are also found in the treasure chests dropped by Like Likes. So you need to farm these creatures to obtain the weapon. These creatures are located in the caves surrounding Zora’s Domain. Remember that you need at least one Zora Spear, regardless of whether the spear is decayed or not, to get the Lightscale Trident.
How to Collect Diamonds
You can collect Diamonds by mining mineral ores scattered all across Hyrule. These ores are also found inside caves. Please note that you have to mine ores that have a yellowish glow to them since these drop rare gems such as Rubies, Diamonds, etc. Alternatively, you can also farm Diamonds from Dondons. Read this guide to learn where to find Dondons in Zelda: ToTK. Remember that you have to collect at least 3 Diamonds for the Lightscale Trident.
How to Collect Flints
Flints are the easiest to find since they are common materials. By now, you should have at least 15 of them in your inventory. However, if you don’t have Flints, we’ve got you covered. Flints can be obtained the same way you get diamonds, i.e., by mining ores. Remember that you need to have at least five Flints in your inventory for the Lightscale Trident.
How to obtain the Lightscale Trident – Final Step
After you’ve acquired all the necessary materials, return to Dento in Zora’s Domain. If you talk to him and hand him the Zora Spear, 3 diamonds, and 5 flints, he will craft you the Lightscale Trident. After exhausting his dialogues, the “Glory of the Zora” side quest will be complete, and you will now have a new sick-looking trident in your arsenal. Just like with the Great Eagle Bow, you can ask Dento to craft endless Lightscale Tridents for you. Just make sure you have the necessary materials ready.
