Wondering how to change a Pokemon’s nickname in Pokemon Legends Arceus? One of the most adorable moments of a Pokemon game is when you get to nickname your newly tamed little creature! Most main titles of the Pokemon series have been known to provide such an option! Legends Arceus is no exception to that trend. You can assign a nickname to a Pokemon immediately after capturing it. Want to know how to set or change nicknames for your Pokemons? Read this article for a complete guide.
Pokemon Legends Arceus is an action-adventure RPG based out of a Hisuian setting. Many have referred to it as an “open-world adventure”. However, it is actually a semi-open world setting. There are five sub-regions in Hisui, each with definite and profound characteristics. The Hisuian Pokedex consists of 242 Pokemons – that’s… a huge one! From Noble Pokemons to Alphas to Shinys, we have everything we love about Pokemons in Hisui. Some things have been made more challenging (and fun) – like sourcing ingredients and crafting essentials. Again, you wouldn’t require trading to evolve those Trademons! So, the game appears pretty balanced, if you may ask. Pokemon Legends Arceus isn’t the best Pokemon title created till now, according to fans. But it has certainly changed our perspective of how a usual Pokemon game plays out.
How to change nickname of Pokemon in Legends Arceus?
Nicknaming all 242 Pokemons may not be an easy task, but that ain’t stopping fans! To change the nickname of a Pokemon, press the UP key on your Nintendo Switch’s directional pad to open up the Menu. Now, select the Pokemon you want to nickname and press the A button of your Nintendo Switch. Now, select Change Nickname and type in the nickname of your choice.
There’s no limit to how many times you can change a Pokemon nickname. This is a relief, as fans weren’t particularly happy with the restriction on changing the name or gender of the trainer character. However, nicknaming a Pokemon in Pokemon Legends Arceus isn’t entirely free of restrictions. You cannot nickname a traded Pokemon. So, you will have to call your new Pokemon [obtained via trading] by the name your friend used to call it. Not exactly fair, but it is what it is.
