Well, as it happens, you cannot complete your Pokedex by just capturing Pokemons – you will also need to complete related research tasks assigned to you. Upon completing research tasks related to a particular Pokemon, you can report to Professor Laventon to update your Pokedex. As you can see, farming research points is an absolute necessity! How to farm research points in Pokemon Legends Arceus?
1) Make sure you report all survey tasks to Professor Laventon
As mentioned before, reporting to Professor Laventon is the only way you can update your Research Level and Survey Corps Rank. Professor Laventon processes all the research points you have collected by completing tasks and also updates the Pokedex for you accordingly! Until and unless you report to him, you will see the old rank and research level.
Speaking to Pokemons will update your Task Progress. You can choose to take a look at the Pokedex Entry of the Pokemon you are interacting with by using the ZL key and pressing the Down key at the same time. You can then have an idea about the tasks you still need to complete.
2) Completing Research Tasks with Double Arrows will get you double points!
If you don’t know already, research tasks which have a double arrow beside them [left] are capable of producing double the research points. As a result, completing these will get you up the levels faster and easier.
3) Level up and evolve Pokemons in Pokemon Legends Arceus wherever possible.
As you can imagine, it is important to take your carried Pokemons to battles. Increasing their experience and evolving them will complete important research tasks and hence get you those much-required research points. According to reports, research tasks with double arrows sometimes involve evolution. Thus, evolving a Pokemon may turn out to be exceptionally rewarding! Keep in mind that carried Pokemons may take advantage of the XP Share feature of the game. You can choose to carry many Pokemons of the same species which are easily evolvable. 4) Complete tasks quickly by attempting to do multiple at once.
Some tasks in Legends Arceus will require you to sneak behind a Pokemon and catch it. You can do so by hiding yourself in tall grass or shadows. You can also use berries to distract Pokemons. Other tasks will require you to catch multiple Pokemons of the same species or even defeat them. Try completing multiple of them at once. For example, try and throw multiple Poke Balls at multiple Pokemons at once. This will let you catch more than one Pokemons at once. You can try this at Mass Outbreaks or even in a normal spawn location.
