Fixes for Oculus Quest 2 hand tracking not working:
1) Remove the batteries:
Remove the batteries from the controllers of your Oculus Quest 2. And put the batteries back after a few seconds. If it’s been a long time since you have added a new pair of batteries, you can do that as well. Insert fresh batteries in the controller. Make sure to do this while your Oculus Quest to headset is turned off. Turn on the headset and pair the controllers again if needed. The hand tracking problem on your Oculus should now be solved.
2) Re-run the hand tracking tutorial:
When you go into apps, you should be able to see an app named ‘Hands’. Open the app and run the hand tracking tutorial. This will reset the hand tracking settings and put everything back into place.
3) Check for obstructions on the camera:
If there is something blocking the camera on the Quest headset, problems with hand tracking is quite obvious. Check the camera and dust off any smudges or spots. Also, keep in mind that for the cameras to work efficiently, the room should be well lit. If the intensity of lights in the room is less than what it always is, you should fix that first. 4) Restart the Headset:
If the troubleshooting steps given above did not help, let’s go back to the basics. Press and hold the power button on your Oculus headset until the power off menu appears. Select the Restart option from the menu and wait for your headset to restart. After that, try using the controllers with the Oculus Quest 2 headset again.
