Kasa app and devices work in harmony to provide an all round security service to your home. The app is just a tool for users to control the devices that are installed in their house. Users get notifications for whenever their security camera senses movement near it. So you know who approaches your house and when. Security is a big deal and cannot be taken lightly. The Kasa devices have to be connected to your home network so that they are always accessible through the Kasa app wherever you are. The Kasa app can be used on a cellular network, which will be the only option you have when on the go. However, users should be able to use the app on a wifi network when they can. But some users are currently facing a problem where the app is not connecting to WiFi. If the same issue is bothering you, read through the troubleshooting steps listed below.

Fixes for the Kasa app not recognizing wifi:
Disable VPN or ad blocker:
After reading through a few user reports on online community forums, you can clearly deduce that people with VPN or Ad blocker enabled on their devices faced this issue. So if you too have your VPN activated, disable it. The same goes for an ad blocker you might be using. Disable those and check if the Kasa app is recognizing wifi.
Power cycle router:
Shut down your wifi router and unplug its power cable. Wait for a few seconds and then plug the power cable back into the router. Meanwhile, go to your device settings and find the Wifi tab. Select your wifi network from the list of paired networks. Tap on the option to “Forget” the network. After that, turn on your router and connect your device to the network again. This will most certainly allow the Kasa app to recognize the network.
If these steps don’t prove helpful, the best thing to do would be to contact Kasa Support. The reason for this is, there isn’t much information available on the problem. The users who are facing this issue are a handful. And the lack of cases for this issue prevents the possibility of finding a cause for it. And hence there aren’t many troubleshooting steps we can suggest. So contact support so you can get professional help for the problem as soon as possible.
