The Nest app is a tool that is to be used in unison with the Nest products. The app allows users to register and manage the Nest devices that are installed around their house. Users can easily monitor their Nest devices on the app and check if they are online or are facing any issues. But what should the users do when the Nest app does not show the Nest Cam registered on their device? A security camera cannot be put through problems like these. Because a problem with it directly affects the security of your house. If the Nest Cam is not showing in the Nest app, you will not be able to control and monitor the device. That is why the following list of troubleshooting methods will be very helpful for users who are troubled by the unavailability of their device on the Nest app.

Fixes for Nest Cam not showing in the Nest app:
Use the Google Home app:
Why would a fix mention use a completely different app? To be fair, this is a question that Nest should try answering one fine day. But until that day comes, you should try using the Google Home app to control your Nest Cam. This is especially if you have recently bought a new camera. There are newer Nest cam devices, specifically the Nest Hello Battery Doorbell that cannot be used with the Nest app. It’s difficult to believe, but many users confirmed that this is the case. So you should definitely give it a try.
Check the power supply to the camera:
If you are using a wired Nest cam, you should check the power cable, adapter, and wall socket for issues. Anything that can prevent the camera from receiving power has to be fixed. First, check if the wall socket works. You can do that by temporarily plugging a different device into the socket to check if it works. If the wall socket works, check the adapter and the power cable for any signs of damage. Change the components that are damaged and the power should be back, bringing the Nest cam back online on the Nest app.
Check the internet connection:
The Nest cam can also show an offline status or disappear from the app if the internet is not working. Turn off your router, unplug the power cable and wait for a few seconds. Plug the power cable back into your router and turn it on. Check if that fixed the problem. If not, contact your ISP and ask for assistance in getting your internet connection fixed. After getting your internet connection fixed, the Nest cam should be shown in the Nest app.
