Activision Dev error 426 may happen due to some integrity issues with files. This means some files required to run the game are missing or corrupted. Also, it can be due to a corrupted or incomplete windows update. In short, you will have to check a few things to solve this issue. We are listing all the possible fixes for you.

Fixes

  1. Check integrity of game files: To do so, open the Battle.net client. From the left menu, select the game in which you are getting the error. You will see an Options drop-down menu. Click on that and select Scan and Repair > Begin Scan. After the scan is done, you can launch the game and check whether the error is still showing up. Check the next fix if the error still occurs.
  2. Check for pending windows update: Go to Windows Settings > Update & Security. Then click on Check for updates. You will see any pending or corrupted updates. Install all of them and make sure you follow proper instructions to rule out corrupted updates. Restart your system, and then try launching the game. If the Activision Dev error 426 persists, try the next fix.
  3. Delete user config files: To do so, open the Run Dialog box. Type %USERPROFILE%\Documents and click OK. Look for your game folder, open it, and delete all files inside it. Launch the game and check whether the issue is still there. Try the next fix if the error is not solved yet.
  4. Complete updates of your graphic drivers: This is important as incompatible graphic drivers can render a game unplayable. Visit the Geforce experience app or your GPU manufacturer’s app to complete any pending updates.
  5. Check Activision’s servers for the game you are playing: Check the official Twitter page of Activision for any information on server issues. If you are on console, check the status of your console servers as well. You can also check for the same here.

The above fixes should be enough to fix the Activision Dev error 426. If you are still having trouble, try using a different game account to log in, as the error can be restricted to particular accounts. Updates on video games can be a bit messy and spit out such annoying errors.

If you are unable to solve the issue with the above fixes, we suggest you put an in-game report or visit Activision Support from here to submit a ticket.
