1) Toggle Virtual Super Resolution:
Just toggling this option in the AMD Radeon Application will help you to view the AMD overlay in your game again. For example, if the Virtual Super Resolution is off, turn it on and vice versa.
2) Downgrade your AMD graphics drivers:
Go to the official AMD website and downgrade your graphics to a previous version. This is a temporary fix and as the following update rolls out for your driver, try running it with that update.
3) Disable overlay for Wallpaper engine:
If you are using Wallpaper Engine, go to the Gaming tab and remove it from the list of games from your settings. After that, try running the AMD overlay again.
4) Disable Game Mode and Capture Settings:
If the AMD overlay is not working, you can disable the Game mode. For this, you will have to go to Windows Settings> Gaming> Game Mode. After that, you can disable the Captures option from settings. Also, go to the Xbox Game Bar and disable it too.
5) Select a new hotkey for the AMD overlay:
You can also try setting a new hotkey for the AMD overlay. To do this, go to Radeon Settings> Home Page and go to the bottom of the page to find the “Preferences” option. After that, select the option that says “Toggle Radeon Overlay Hotkey” and enter a new combination of keys to enable this feature.
6) Change the language of Radeon Software:
If the Radeon Software language is set to English, change it to some other language and then switch back to English again. You can do the same for any language. This fix may sound gimmicky but you can try it as it has worked for other users.
7) Disable full-screen optimizations:
You can find the .exe file of the game that you are using AMD overlay for and disable full-screen optimization. You have to go to the properties of the .exe file by right-clicking on it, and then go to the “Compatibility” tab from there. Now, after disabling the full-screen optimization option, select the Run this program in compatible mode option and try picking Windows 7/8.
