Can you fix Discover Zelle?
Currently, Discover has stopped accepting new sign-ups for Zelle. Users who tried using Zelle with Discover after march 1st 2022. Now this change has been implemented for an indefinite period. Everyone who was subjected to problems post this decision was sent an apology email. This is the mail sent to all the users –
“Thank you for being a valued Discover customer. You are receiving this message because you enrolled in the Zelle transfer service on or after March 1, 2022. We are writing to let you know that access to the Zelle transfer service is currently unavailable to you.
What this means for you:
• Until the service is available again, you will not be able to send or receive money with Zelle.
• If you have attempted to send or receive money with Zelle recently, the transaction(s) may have been declined.
While Zelle is unavailable, please take advantage of services such as Online Bill Payment and Mobile Check Deposit to move money.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”
The confusing part about this situation is, Discover hasn’t made a clear announcement about this change. This is a pretty big change for many users and affects the way they make transactions. But an official announcement about the unavailability of Zelle on Discover may come across as irreversible. As mentioned in the email, Zelle will be back on Discover. However, that may take some time. Hence, it is in your best interest to find yourself an alternative to carry out your online transactions. And make sure to keep up with the latest updates about the situation.
