Xiaomi’s newly arrived UI has come with a lot of new features that have delighted the fans. One such feature is a Frame Rate Tool that has been added to a Xiaomi device for the first time. With this addition, users can access an inbuilt FPS monitor for which users had to look for 3rd party apps before the acquisition.
What do we mean by FPS?
For those of our fans who don’t know, FPS is frames per second which means the number of frames that appear on the screen while playing any visual content or gaming in a full second. The higher the amount of Frame Rate, the smoother the experience for the user. Low frame rates can cause the content to lag or stutter.
What is a Frame Rate Tool?
A frame rate tool, also known as an FPS monitor is a tool that lets you monitor the current FPS rate of your device. It tracks your PC’s hardware and displays the information as an overlay in your device.
Steps to enable the frame rate tool in MIUI12:
- Firstly make sure your device is up to date and is running on the latest MIUI 12 in the “About” section of your smartphone settings.
- Now open settings and tap seven times on the MIUI version option in the menu of your “About” section (This step will enable the developer options for your phone)
- Now tap on “Additional settings” in your main settings menu and go to “Developer Options.”
- Scroll down and tap on “Power monitor,” and then tap on the “start” button.
The steps, as mentioned above, will enable an overlay on your screen, which will help you monitor the frame rate of your device.
