Roblox hosts 500000+ games for us to play. It not only promotes online gaming but is also a social media platform that brings together gamers from all over the world. Although the massively-multiplayer online gaming platform was launched on September 1, 2006, it has only been a few years since it found massive popularity. Many developers took advantage of its presence and created extremely successful video games out of it. Considering all the popularity Roblox has as of 2021, it is highly unlikely that Roblox will shut down in 2022.
Is Roblox shutting down in 2022?
With Roblox, anyone can make and play games. Yes, you can become a game developer on the platform too. Roblox provides all the tools you will require to create stunning video games and publish them for fans all over the world. The base idea of the platform is great, and that explains its popularity and success. However, rumors (almost) never bear good news.

Being an online platform has its perks, but also a few cons. A lot of support is required for server maintenance on an online platform. However, you may rarely come across sudden and long server downtimes on Roblox, which lasts more than a day or two. Once the issue is fixed, your favorite online games will be up and running – there’s no need to panic. Such server downtimes do not correspond to the platform shutting down. The rumor of Roblox shutting down was lurking around for a few years. But, let us clear it up for you, as have officials before. According to Statista, Roblox generated $920 million revenue in 2020 and over $1200 million revenue (still counting) in 2021. There are over 47 million daily active users on Roblox as of Q3 2021. The company has also gone public (IPO) since March 10, 2021, with direct listings of 199 million shares at $45 per share. This will promote its presence among a greater population which may lead to an increase in player base and market share.
Let’s set things straight: Roblox isn’t “shutting down.” The same hoax (with a few details changed) goes around every year or two.
Remember: don’t believe everything y’all read on the internet! 😆
