One of the major highlights of smart automation devices is the audio control ability they provide. But the voice or audio control feature may or may not be built into it. Hence, many of those devices depend on external Ai assistants that can interpret voice commands into actual functions. The Kasa Plug works fluently with the Amazon Alexa device and provides smooth control through voice commands.
Using voice assistants like Alexa can allow users to control the Kasa Smart plug and turn devices around their house on or off. But what if the Kasa smart plug does not work with the Alexa device? Some users are forced to deal with this issue recently. If the plug does not connect to Alexa, you cannot control it through voice commands which completely ruins the point of it. Fixes for Kasa Plug not working with Alexa:
Set it up properly:
Prevention is better than cure. Hence, make sure to pay extra attention when setting up a certain service to avoid any issues with it going forward. To use the Kasa Smart plug, you will have to authorize your Kasa account on the Amazon Alexa app. And when you select the option to “Discover devices” on the app, the Smart plug will get connected easily. The steps to set up the plug will be provided in the user manual. Read through it carefully and fix any mistakes you might have made when setting up the device.
Reset the Smart plug:
Press and hold the control button on the plug for about five seconds. This will put the plug into setup mode again. Go ahead and set it up correctly and the Kasa Plug will easily sync with Alexa.
Check the app:
Open the Kasa app on your mobile device which has the plug linked to it. Check if the plug can be controlled remotely. If not, you might want to check if there is something wrong with your internet connection. Open other apps on your device to check if they work on the same network on which the Kasa Plug is connected.
If other apps on your device are loading extremely slowly, contact your ISP to enquire about the current status of your internet connection. If the internet is down, ask them what you can do to fix it. After the internet connection is fixed, the Kasa Plug will work fluently with Alexa.
