Fixes for Nest Cam not turning on:
Check the power outlet:
The most probable reason why the Nest Cam may not be turning on is a malfunctioning power outlet. You can check that by plugging the Nest Cam to a different power outlet temporarily. If the Nest Cam powers on, you should get the outlet checked by a professional. But if the camera does not turn on even on a different outlet, try the next step in this list.
Check battery:
For wireless Nest Cams, you should check if the battery has given up. There are quite a few things that need to be taken care of when using a wireless Nest Cam. There is a possibility that the battery may have died down and isn’t receiving enough power to charge up. It is also possible that the battery was exposed to extreme environmental conditions which are preventing it from working as expected. You should contact Nest Support(https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp?hl=en) to get the battery or the entire device replaced if it fulfills the terms and conditions.
Check the cables:
Check the power cables connected to your Nest Cam. If the cable is damaged(which is highly possible if used outdoors), replace it with a new one. Make sure that the cable you buy is compatible with the device. You can visit this page(https://store.google.com/in/?hl=en-US) for more information on the same.
Check internet connection:
Checking the internet connection is important because the Nest app and Cam connect over a wifi connection. And to constantly keep yourself updated about the camera status it needs to stay connected to the wifi network. To troubleshoot your network, power cycle your router. If power cycling the router doesn’t work, contact your ISP to get the connection fixed as soon as possible.
Factory reset:
If none of the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the list work, a factory reset is your only option. Find the pinhole with the reset button behind the camera. Insert a paperclip in the home and press the button. Keep it pressed for about 15 seconds and then release it. This will factory reset the camera. After setting the Nest Cam up, there won’t be any issues preventing it from turning on.
