Netflix app on Samsung TV

Being greeted with an error when you just wanted to enjoy watching your favorite Netflix show is frustrating. The Netflix app is compatible with a lot of devices which also includes smart TV’s like Samsung TV. Users rarely face any issues with Netflix. But a few problems can pop up randomly. This is also applicable to the users who access the Netflix app on their Samsung TV.

Generally, the Samsung TV and the Netflix app are very compatible with each other. An error between these is not a common occurrence. That’s why you will need some assistance to fix it. Here are some troubleshooting steps that will help you fix the app on your Samsung TV.

Fixes for the Netflix app not working on Samsung TV:
Netflix app on Samsung TV

1) Check server status:

You should check the server status for Netflix. If the Netflix servers are down, the problem will not be solved with any amount of troubleshooting. Waiting for the problem to solve itself is the only option. You can easily get updates about the situation by visiting online community forums.

2) Test your internet connection:

A slow internet connection can also lead you to believe that the Netflix app is not working on your Samsung TV. Check your internet connection by loading up a different app. Similar problems with that app will confirm the problems with your internet connection. Power cycling your router should help with small connectivity issues. You can also contact your ISP for assistance in the matter.

3) Sign out and sign in:

Sign out of your Netflix account from the Samsung TV. Restart the TV using the remote and open the Netflix app again. Now sign in to your Netflix account and check if it is working the way you want it to. If the problem with the app persists, try out the next step in this list.

4) Hard reset your TV:

A hard reset is a lot different from just restarting your TV. Unplug the power cable from the wall plug to completely power off the device. Now press and hold the power button on your TV for 30 seconds. Release the button and plug the power cable into the wall plug. Restart your Samsung TV and launch the Netflix app to check the results of this step.

5) Update the app and/or system software:

The next best thing you can do to fix the Netflix app on your Samsung TV is either update the app or the system software or both. First, check if the Netflix app can be updated by visiting the Samsung store on your device. If there is no update lined up for the app, check the device next. Install the updates that are available for your Samsung TV and then check if the app is working correctly. In most cases, this fix will be more than enough to solve any problems.
