Amazon Games have introduced a proximity chat system in New World. Fans are having fun with the new proximity chat, which lets you voice chat with peeps when they are close to you. How to use voice chat in New World?
New World is an MMORPG, one of the most played video game genres around the world. One can form groups of up to five members. However, the world will have players from other groups as well. So, how can you use the proximity chat? Keep reading to know.
Proximity Chat
To activate proximity chat, go to the in-game settings and open the Communications tab. There, you will find the Voice Chat Mode options menu. You can choose from three options: ENABLED, GROUP ONLY, and DISABLED. To use the proximity chat, you should set the Voice Chat Mode to ENABLED. Scroll down to find the Voice Chat Input Mode options menu. You can choose Push to Talk or keep the mic always enabled from this menu. Note that, proximity chat will only work when you are close to the peeps you want to talk to.
Group Chat
Sometimes, proximity chat can be overwhelming for many. You can also set your chat preferences to group only. To do so, go to Settings > Communications > Voice Chat Mode and select GROUP ONLY. Once done, you will be able to hear the players in your group only. And, your voice will be heard only by peeps in your group. You can choose Push to Talk or keep the mic always enabled from the Voice Chat Input Mode options menu.
Discord
If all this seems a lot for you, you can always use the good old Discord. According to the release notes, the developers have disabled voice chat for all new characters created. This restriction is for three hours. During the time of restriction, if you want to communicate with peeps you can use Discord to do so very easily. Join a voice channel and tell your groupmates to join the same voice channel. You can then easily communicate while playing New World.
