Pacific Drive is an excellent adventure/survival game. It is a clever mix of genres and has an interesting plot and premise. Apart from the plot and the premise of the game, there is a lot going on here. Your car is your only lifeline but what happens if you lose it or can’t use it? Well, the story comes to a grinding halt and you are forced to find a fix before anything can progress in any direction. This is what is happening with Pacific Drive and the ‘floating car’ bug that some players are encountering. Pacific Drive really throws you for a toss with the gameplay mechanics and the loop of the game.
You are forced to take a minute, address the situation, and then act accordingly. If you rush into a situation without any preparation, you might lose a lot of loot, and resources and, worse, damage your car. These are all considerations you have to make when you play this game. Not just this, you also need to take time to resupply and actually explore the zone you are setting out to. In the midst of this, a car-related bug is not good for your game.
Pacific Drive “Floating” Car Bug: How to fix it?
The issue seems to be that the car begins to hover or ‘float’ on thin air when in-game. This is an issue because now you are stuck in a car that you cannot maneuver. You just have to sit and wait for whatever is in the zone to come and find you. Anyway, the good news is that the developers have indeed fixed this issue a while back. But if you are still encountering it, here’s what you can do.
How to solve it?
Don’t worry; not all hope is lost. Since this is an in-game bug, the solution will also be in-game. All you really need to do are 2 things:
1). Avoid getting hit by Explosive Bunnies
This bug primarily triggers when you get hit by an explosive bunny. The only solution to this is to not get hit anymore. If you find yourself in a situation like this, just lure another one to come hit you, or wait till you are hit by another explosive bunny, and the car will come crashing back down.
2). Reload the map/leave the map
Pacific Drive stores areas and data at the loading of each phase of the zone/map. All you will need to do to solve this bug is simply reload the map or head back out. This is all it takes to bring your car crashing back down to the surface again. Once you do this, you can continue driving as if nothing ever happened in the first place. If the issue persists, consider restarting the game, and it should be fixed.
Is that it?
Luckily, this is a minor bug and can easily be fixed with these methods. If you ever encounter this bug, don’t panic and just use these methods. We do recommend that you stay away from explosive bunnies, though. If this happens to you other than by an explosive bunny, instantly reload the map or exit the map/game and come back. This way, you can continue playing as usual.
