Wondering how to delete captures from the PS app? Look no more, as this article will answer your question. Sony recently added a feature to the PS app that will let PS5 users share their game capture clips from the convenience of the PS app. Previously, users would have to tweet their captures to their friends from the UI or download them onto a USB drive. This was obviously a tedious way to share in-game captures. But now, you’ll no longer need to bank on any workarounds to share your PS5 captures with your friends!
The PlayStation App is a free-to-use application that you can use to manage your console and PS account. You can download the app from Google PlayStore (for Android devices) or from AppStore (for iOS devices). With the PS app, you can shop for new games and trigger downloads on your console remotely. You can also check your friends’ statuses and even chat with them. There are a lot of useful features that could get users excited about the app. However, the most recent update to the app has managed to bring smiles to a lot of faces – especially, content creators!
How to enable PS5 game captures?
You can now enable the automatic uploading of your game captures to the app. To enable auto-uploading of your PS5 game captures, simply navigate to your console settings > Captures and Broadcasts > Captures. Now, enable Auto-Upload. You’ll have to enable captures on the app as well. Open the app and tap on Library. Now, go to Captures and tap on Enable. With this feature enabled, the captures you record on your PS5 will be automatically uploaded to the PS app.
How to delete captures on the PS app?
To delete a capture clip from your PlayStation console, open the Settings on your console and navigate to Storage > Console Storage and tap on Media Gallery. Here, you’ll find all your game captures. Select the one you want to delete and hit the trash can icon. But, deleting from the console storage will not delete the capture from the PS app, if the capture was uploaded before.
As it happens, the app uploads and stores eligible captures in SIE’s cloud servers. The uploaded captures will be available for 14 days, after which they will be deleted. There’s probably no option to delete captures manually from the app. We recommend looking for a trash can icon for an option to delete captures on the app. If you don’t find one, relax! As mentioned before, your captures will remain on the PS app for two weeks only – even if you don’t delete the capture from your console storage. According to Sony, you cannot manually upload a capture to the app. So, it looks like you cannot delete a capture from the PS app either.
