Just like your smartphone or PC, TVs also receive regular updates that boost their performance and offer new features. However, unlike in smartphones, updates on your TV can sometimes be a hassle to install as they are often accompanied by errors. If you own a Samsung TV, you might have encountered the error code 800 which occurs when you try to update the system. So, now you must be wondering whether there is a way to fix this problem, right? If yes, consider reading this guide as we have shared all the details on how to get rid of this issue with the help of a few effective workarounds.

When you buy a product from a reputed company, you expect an experience that is premium and far superior to what’s available on a budget. Samsung is a very big name in the tech space, but even their devices aren’t immune to issues. As per reports, many Samsung TV models aren’t getting updated as users are stuck on the update screen, which displays the Resource Error Code 800. So, here’s what you can do to fix the problem.

Basic checks

Before you try any workaround, we recommend that you restart your TV once, if you haven’t done so already. Also, unplug it from the power source for a few minutes and then plug it back again. Now, turn it on, and then check whether the same error code persists.

Internet Connection

To update the TV’s firmware, it must be connected to the internet. So, if your internet connection is slow or is unstable, it might be the reason why the error code is occurring. Consider checking your internet connection speed, and if it is low, switch to a different connection for better connectivity. You can also try restarting your router or connecting your TV to the Internet via a wired connection.

Update Manually

So, if you are hellbent on updating your Samsung TV firmware, but keep encountering this error code, you can try updating it manually. For this, you need to have a flash drive that’s entirely empty. After this, head over to the official Samsung Downloads page, enter the model of your TV in the search bar, and hit enter. Doing so will display the latest firmware update available for that model. Now, download it, and then unzip the contents of the file. Once done, copy-paste the files to the flash drive. After this is done, insert the flash drive into your TV’s USB port and go to the Main Menu. Now, select Settings, and then Support. Here, select the Software Update option, select Update Now, and then select Yes if prompted. This will initiate the update process via the flash drive, and if you have done everything correctly, the firmware update will be successful.

Set Source as TV

For this workaround, you will need to first set the Source setting of your TV to TV instead of HDMI. Once you have applied the same, consider accessing the update menu to check if the issue persists.

Factory Reset

As a last resort, you can try factory resetting your TV, after which you should be able to update it to the latest version. You can find the Reset option in the General tab or in the Support tab, inside the Device Care settings. Once the reset is complete, try updating to check whether the same error code 800 occurs.

Contact Support

If none of the workarounds have been of help, you can contact Samsung Support, as they will be able to provide you with additional assistance regarding the same.

With that said, we hope that with the help of these workarounds, you were able to update your Samsung TV. Consider visiting Android Gram daily if you find this guide informative. We bring you the latest and best workarounds to help you get rid of an issue.
