Looks like Tales of Arise players are very dissatisfied with the developers’ about the in game ad system. It’s 2021 and pay-to-play video games should not have ads. That’s horrifying. However, Tales of Arise developers wanted to promote their DLCs and other possible microtransactions in game. But, players are finding the notifications extremely “intrusive”. We understand the players’ perspective of being able to disable such ads at least when they are not liking them. However, the developers haven’t yet provided an option to disable/enable ads in Tales of Arise. Read this article to know more about what players have to say.
They need to patch out the ads in game. This is not even up to debate.
Tales of Arise in-game ads: Why is it sparking a debate?
The in game ads in Tales of Arise are annoying some players to a huge extent. But, there’s also a group of players trying to ease the uproar by suggesting to ignore the notifications. If you scroll through all the notifications or news, the news line will disappear. Many players have no issues with the ads: according to them, it is okay for developers to promote game content in this way. Yes, the ads are not for external purposes. The ads showcase news like new downloadable content availability. Not only do those ads appear on the title screen, but a news tab also appears while playing the game. None of the players are particularly in love with the ads: no one likes ads of any kind.
Yes I agree it kills immersion and is annoying seeing it there when in camp. This is the type of ♥♥♥♥ Ubisoft and WB do.
Players unhappy with the ads system in Tales of Arise say that the ads are absolutely unnecessary and hamper the user experience. Many of them are annoyed with the notification icon (!) beside the DLC tab, System tab and other menu options. Developers haven’t yet acknowledged this topic of concern. However, we can say that most players aren’t ready to adjust with such level of ads in a pay-to-play PC/console game.
This attitude of “getting used to” intrusive advertising is why advertising gets increasingly more intrusive and companies continue to push the boundaries of what is acceptable.
But, many players say that the ads and notifications could be avoided or ignored. Scrolling through the ads will get rid of them. However, they will reappear the next time you launch the game. Right now, we will have to wait and see how the developers tackle this situation. For more such updates on Tales of Arise, stay tuned to Androidgram.
