Fixes for Vizio SmartCast not connecting to WiFi:
Tweak network settings:
Press the Menu button on your Vizio TV remote and go to Network settings. Locate the DHCP option under it. If you cannot find it, check under the Wireless tab. Once you locate the option, turn it on or enable it. Now close the settings and check if the Vizio SmartCast connects to the Wifi successfully.
Try ethernet:
If it is feasible for you and if it does not ruin other aspects of your setup, consider using an ethernet connection. Connecting your device to the internet using an ethernet can be a pretty easy way out of the problem. Contact your ISP and discuss extending the ethernet cable to your TV.
Power cycle your router:
Power cycling your router is probably the easiest way you can fix a temporary network issue with it. Before that, check the router to see if all the cables are securely inserted in when the Vizio SmartCast fails to connect to the WiFi connection. If there are loose ends, insert it properly and check if the WiFi connects. If there are no problems with the setup, turn off your router and unplug its power cable. Let it stay like that for 30 seconds. And then plug the power cable back. Turn on the router and check if the problem is fixed.
Power cycle your device:
Turn off your Vizio TV and unplug its power cable from the wall socket. Now, wait for about 30 seconds. Plug the power cable back into the TV and then turn the device on. Check if the Vizio SmartCast connects to WiFi.
Factory reset:
A factory reset is recommended if everything else fails to fix the problem on your device. Press the home button on the Vizio remote and select System. Under System, find and select Reset & Admin > Reset TV to factory settings. Let the factory reset execute while you wait. After that’s done, the Vizio SmartCast won’t have any problems connecting with your WiFi network.
