Fixes for the Xfinity Stream app not working:
Restart the app:
Close or force close the Xfinity Stream app on your device. To force close the app, go to the list of recently used apps on your device and remove Xfinity stream from there. Then reopen the app to check if it works the way you want it to.
Make sure the device has an active internet connection:
A slow internet speed can negatively affect your experience on video streaming services like Xfinity Stream. Hence it is important for you to make sure that your internet connection is working fine. You can try opening other streaming services on your device and play a video. If the video buffers a lot you can be sure that the internet speed is lacking. Contact your ISP to get the connection fixed and the Xfinity Stream app should be working fine.
Log out and log in again:
One of the troubleshooting steps suggested by the Xfinity support page is trying to re-log into your account. Log out of your Xfinity Stream account. Now close the app and launch it again. Add your credentials to log into your account again. After logging in, the Xfinity Stream app should work if we go by what Xfinity suggests.
Restart the device:
It is quite possible that you already tried this step. If you did, move on to the next step. But if you haven’t yet, restart your device in an attempt to fix the Xfinity Stream app. After restarting the device, open the Xfinity Stream app to check the result of this step. Usually, when the problem does not have a known reason, a quick restart is preferred.
Reinstall the app:
Xfinity also suggests reinstalling the app in case of an issue. So you should try doing that as well. Uninstall the Xfinity Stream app from your device. Then install it again and sign into your account. This will not only clear the database and delete cache files, but also install the latest version of the app on your device.
