Seabases are important for a player to survive in Subnautica Below Zero and serve as an alternative to Life Pod 5 as a center for operations. It requires power to operate as it allows you to access appliances not available in Life Pod 5. Unfortunately, your seabases are not invincible and can suffer from damages due to construction. Keep reading to know how to take care of leakages in your seabase.
How to drain and repair your seabase in Subnautica Below Zero?
You will have to keep your seabases safe and strong as they are an important part of your life underwater. A player has to come back to his seabase for oxygen, make food, and construct extra storage. You can build seabases for yourself using the habitat builder. It is possible to make modifications to the seabase you build. However, adding modifications like modules and compartments will weaken the hull integrity of your seabase.
Hull Integrity is the ability of a player’s seabase to withstand the pressure of the ocean water. Since the seabases are built at great depths, installing any compartment module will reduce hull integrity. This can lead to cracks or hull breaches in your seabase leading to flooding. If you have built bulkheads at the ends of compartment modules, it is possible to keep the water from flooding all compartments. However, eventually, it will flood all compartments. So, how to keep your seabase from flooding entirely and drain the water? We have listed the required steps.
Steps:-
- To prevent the hull integrity from reducing, try constructing Reinforcement panels wherever possible, placing a Seabase on or near a Foundation, or installing Bulkheads on the ends of Compartment modules to prevent a flood from spreading.
- If your seabase floods, navigate inside the seabase and the flooded compartment to find the exact position of the breach.
- Use your Repair Tool to repair the leaks. Once the repair is done, draining of the base will be initiated as well. Slowly, the water will drain completely.
- Then, build reinforcement walls by going to the Construction Menu. Place them around the location where the previous leak happened to increase the hull integrity of your seabase.
That’s all. Your seabase will now be safe again!
